Scrap Night Recipes

Oh my!! Baseball season is in full swing here at our house, what a blessing!! We love it, but it keeps us busy and gone. Hopefully I will make myself stop and catch my Blog up, LOL. First off SCRAP NIGHT!! OMG, what fun!! Literally, I'm not trying to be funny here. I love my ladies!! We get together once a month, create master pieces, eat great food, gossip and giggle. This past Friday night was my night to host. LaJeania created a wonderful Boy Layout for us, it was great and I can't wait to put pictures of Trace on it. Anyway, I promised I would share all my recipes so here goes:

Pizza Dip
This was actually the 1st time I ever made this or tasted it. Thanks goes to Sharon Woods for sharing ;) I think my proportions are a little different (she prepares it for a PDO class, and I prepared it for a party of adults. So this is how I did it:

2 bricks Cream Cheese (softened)
1 Jar Pizza Sauce (I used Ragu)
4 Cups Mozzarella Cheese grated
Parmesan Cheese (to taste)
Pizza Toppings (I used mini peperoni, black olives, and mushrooms)

In a 9x13 pan, spray cooking spray and spread out the cream cheese. Then layer the pizza sauce. Sprinkle on the cheeses and other topping of you choice. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Serve hot with chips, crackers of your choice.

Pizza Rolls
1 pkg Frozen Rolls (I use Rhodes-orange bag)
1 pkg peperoni
1 pkg sliced Mozzarella cheese

Follow defrosting/rising directions on the roll's package. Using hands (or anything you want) spread out the dough, spread 3 peperoni and 1/4 piece of cheese. Fold dough around the stuffing and follow the cooking directions on the roll package. My kids LOVE these and they make a great pre-game meal.

Potato Soup
Ok, I'm going to be honest every time I make this, I add or do something different. Apparently Friday Night's versions was good, I got tons of compliments on it ;). So here is what I did Friday Night.

2 pkg small red potatoes
1 small pkg Owens Sausage
1 onion
3 cans cream of mushroom with roasted garlic
1 block Velveeta cheese
salt & pepper to taste

Rinse and chop potatoes into bite size pieces. Boil until tender, not too tender though, you don't want them to be mashy. Drain some of the water, I leave about 1 inch above the potatoes. In a small skillet brown sausage and onions, then add to potatoes. Add soup, Velveeta, and salt and pepper. When all the cheese is melted the soup is ready. Save your leftovers, I think it tasted better the 2nd day ;) Enjoy

Make it Monday - Valentine Love Potion

Ok, while looking through all the blogs that I love I found these super cute Love Potions. Here is a super cute alternative to the traditional candy and card valentine that the kids pass out at school. Check them out:

They were really easy and fun to make. The kids loved passing them out. ;) I found them on the Blog Tatortots and Jello (you should look it up, she has FAB ideas!!), there is a link at the bottom.

Look at that signature!! I love it! I don't know why, but I just think it is the best embellishment for this tags.

Meghan aka Snagz. She is such a goob (I mean that affectionatly, LOL). She said, "Mom everyone knows that is my true name" LOL. I hope she still likes when she gets older, she has written it everywhere ;)

Schedules - WHAT???

Ok, so as I have recently fallen in love with "Blogging" or as we would say in East Texas 'Bloggin' LOL. I have found several different ideas on how to do this. One is to have a schedule of topics: Make-it Mondays, Wordless Wednesdays, Throwback Thrusdays, etc... Ok, I'm not sure how it's gonna work, but I'm going to work on a schedule and try to stick to it ;)

Here is what I have so far:
Mondays - Make-it Mondays - either I will show how to make a craft, or I will cheat and make something off of another blog (see previous post LOL)
Tuesday - ??? Leave a comment of suggestions
Wednesday - Wordless Wednesdays - pictures that I love!! Captions aren't even necessary.
Thursday - Not sure what I want to do here yet - I know Throwback Thursday is always an option, and I just might use it ;)
Friday - Familiy Fridays - I plan on telling a little about my family unit, either stories for my kids to be albe to read or just something fun we are doing.
Saturday - ???
Sunday - ???

Ok, I'm not making any promises that I will completely stick to this schedule, but I will try. Hope you enjoy!! Salina

What we are Reading

Ok, well since I'm all about sharing these days. These are the books we will be reading while we are "Snowed In" tomorrow.

Trace - Little Jake
These are super cool books for little boys (I guess girls could like them too). Trace LOVES them and has the entire collection. He can't go to sleep without reading at least one Little Jake Book every night. My friend Deana G. told me about them, and we have been hooked ever since. Hope they write some more before next Christmas. Now they are not only our favorite book, but also our favorite Birthday gift to fellow hunting boys ;) They are books about a little boy (Little Jake) who hunts. He does it in very safe, law abiding, and adventurous way.

Meghan - Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls or Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo Series

Meg is def her mother's child. She LOVES to read, I am soo blessed. She got both of these series for Christmas, it's like 30 something books in all. She loves to pack them for tournament days or hunting trips. She will def get some good reading in tomorrow ;) These are both series for young female readers. They are really upbeat and tell about all the drama young ladies face these days (boys, pets, moving, friends, brothers, parents, etc...). Meg Loves them, and therefore so do I!!

Ronald - Raising Dad
So, I really don't know what Ron will be reading tomorrow, he usually reads his Bible around here while studing for his lessons. He does most of his reading while trying to sleep at the Lodge, LOL. But he did get this book for Chirstmas ;)

Me - Elizabeth Noble's Things I Want My Daughters to Know
Ok, first let me say I got a Nook for Christmas, I have books downloaded on it. But I just can not make myself read from it. I know it's weird, I'm sure it's an amazing gadget. I'm just a creature of habit. I plan on reading all the books I have in real book form, then starting to read books on the Nook. Or that's the plan anyway. I just started Things I Want My Daughters to Know, and so far it is really good, kinda sad but really good. I will give a full review (not many people know this, actually no one does, but I really would love to write book/movie reviews. There just isn't really a market for that here in Tarkington Texas. LOL)
