Everyday we are a ball field somewhere. Between league, select, and fall ball practices we are getting ball park tans and hating concession stand foods, LOL. Don't take me wrong I'm not complaining, the kids totally love it, it just gets tiring running from practice to practice and game to game with a few tournaments mixed in there too.
I honestly think it's because of some of the personalities on the team, because she doesn't want to quit she just wants on a different team without this one girl. Ron and I are currently praying and waiting for God's guidance in handling this situation. Finally it seems like this little team we started 3 years ago (AKA Ball Hawgz) is getting a break. We are winning some tournaments, playing good, and now Meg isn't happy, it's hard to explain to her that there will always be difficult personalities and you just have to deal with them. The easy solutions would be to just throw them off the team, but it just isn't that easy. I know there is a plan and somehow this will work out. In the meantime, we will continue playing and praying.
He just really likes playing with the older boys and being challenged. He is very excited that there will soon be a 7U Impact team which he will get to try out for and hopefully play with in the Fall. He is soo excited not to just have a "short" baseball season and that he will get to play more tournaments like Meg does.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I just pray that both kids are learning lots of life lessons. Meg has always had trouble with the difficult personalities she faces in class and at school. As her mother it isn't easy!! I find myself really wanting to line these little girls out, but I can't. I know I have to let her handle it, she will grow with this, and hopefully learn a lesson (or that's what I tell myself anyway). Hopefully, Trace will learn that you have to work for things and have patience they will happen. Everything has came sooo easy for him, he tries for something and pretty well succeeds. I don't want him to grow up thinking that life is soo easy. Anyway, these are just a few of the lessons I hope they learn today. I'm sure next week, practice, game, etc... there will be another lessons they will get to learn.lovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-37019539751235574332012-02-09T19:32:00.000-08:002012-02-09T20:15:57.548-08:00Wow Where I have been....Geez...I didn't realize I have been gone this long ;(...Actually LaJeania pointed it out a few scrapnights ago lol. Well instead of rehashing the last 7 months...lets just say my days have been full!! Baseball, Softball, volleyball, basketball, School, teaching my 3's class, church, holidays, and the list goes on and on and on.... Let's just say I have been blissfully busy and loving it. I really hope one day I don't look back and regret all that we are doing, but I know the kids will never say they weren't important and that they were "Bored" (or they better not anyway, LOL). Let's just look at Feb..Meg's Xcel volleyball team is in full swing. This weekend will be here 2nd tournament. Trace's basketball is 1/2 way over, he will play his 5th game this weekend, with only 1 more regular game and then his tournament will start after that. Meg is also still playing softball, they practice every Sunday, with her taking private pitching lessons on Monday and Wednesdays. Trace is also practicing with a hit team, he loves it!! but this is just if we have time to squeeze in those practices between everything else. Ronald has changed his classes at church, he now teaches the Jr High class, it's kind of a "Pre-Youth" class, and every week we get to hear how excited he is to watch the kids grow with their love of the Lord. Me, I'm just busy being everyone's glue, with a little crafting/scrapbooking in between. I know that probably sounds weird, but I'm enjoying just watching each of them live, love and grow. I know these moments are precious and fleeting and one day, there wont' be practices or games, or classes or clinics, and then I will SLEEP!!! But until then we are just living it up, messy house and all.

Here are a few pics that I love from the past few months ;)

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix_KfkMlw3GJHaspa5Hwwokxb7iCxuWi7lXH7ptUfLoaMU3f1f_PTHw7P9A2hNG0rRqGu277nPyM429XmM0ieGth0vkNlXyOsssvaahcF11EefxpI4SvJwHFbDH6tmdIxVSGwUEO7w80I/s320/IMG_7795.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5707353865428247154" />
Meg with her 1st Duck - ever ;)

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnpKubUVNPZxxaOlQGNHAy5hsDuW1K6r3Jmg-_XPDvlsiE4W0yTk-wUfmLPM71GLaTo9Rcz7OSdtx4LiTR_zQC7GYDBWmBGl8HkC6PDb0iBX2e4qkRmyp3Lr5r6PlEYWJsDMfv5tLh53Y/s320/IMG_7746.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5707353859603835074" />
Meg and Trace looking for "treasures" at the Ranch in Del Rio
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP7ux4oB7Ghja5fHG0tJsklrtU6nx37B1UmhO_n16_ro4ATVAmMI4UDSZEtR5SBk6q6V3Cpd1WLFG-KHFNGUz2PF0tDcU6P3M8z3aDMR-AJcr5RuGl_v5Am6d8TB0KRWnNe6Hq_QcsSIY/s320/IMG_7741.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5707353849210147090" />
Trace getting ready to ride the jeep
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiXOvfr3Yhzzb2Yy0g7KXedsS_swbygOm2X1dfA-qt0OpSfeUZaekrad4H8e48iEEpwRXd0O4A0KAKTHNNScWL_-dJzAbBgrAayEhscEOEUTW1wkJrFCqtT2QCEzj6NVg_uc_d93GR9lQ/s320/IMG_7615.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5707353845804003426" />
One of the kid's Christmas Pics
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxemkErigadlgoQaFLct0jd-PoJre6D1ZsDa7LWt4YSYH6Ntdpa374wzKA2bHpQofkgdf6uNc_DijdoBC2Ev97Bp4kOubMl7QjgYa2R9L4SVUhgPvEpzj-tVV-hX4y3js6R_1rD27FZTA/s320/IMG_7511.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5707353835706810658" />
Meg being silly while I'm trying to get her to pose for a pic
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 212px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghufbWRY7BEJmziC4Kg4jP2hEqGfd-cQJ-5Ytqn3kfkj4Oq9QSEsWa3pUcyhyphenhyphenimbJmLSigMm3GZk1vF7L41lQ40cO0GFvEFTQ02n6sxf0Nd_J-3PLzzDaghGI77-iGL1AG5ON4fE99V5k/s320/IMG_7342.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5707351431928276386" />
She is very good at giving the "serious" face, while I'm trying to get a "non-school" or sports pictures of her, BRAT!! I know it's just a simple milestone, but for some reason today it's hitting me hard. In the hustle and bustle of our crazy life, I feel like I haven't done enough! I know we stay busy and do everything for the kids, but we have gotten so involved that we forget to enjoy. I think back and it seems like just yesterday Trace was starting PDO in the 3s class, and now in 1 week he will graduate Kinder. He is soo excited. Tonight he will be getting a "big boy" bed, no more toddler racecar bed (yes, I'm fully aware we have held on to it far too long), and next week he will walk proudly across that stage and except his diploma from Ronald. Don't tell him I said this, but I kinda miss him crying for me every morning, that's probably why I let him sneak in the bed everynight. I know in no time at all he will join Meg in the too big for Mom role...but until then I want to hold him tight, enjoy the snuggles, and savor every sloppy kiss. He is my baby..and he is growing up.

This isn't Trace's 1st day (I couldn't find that pic ;() but this is his 1st PDO Feild Trip. With both kids making All Stars there is not a moment to spare (BTW I'm not complaining, super proud, just SUPER Busy). But I did find time to take Robert and Nicole's engagement pics. It was sooo fun, and something I'm really enjoying playing with. I have always loved taking pics, but this is something new. Anyway, I thought I would share some of the pics. Hope ya enjoy.

lovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-68733432813098486632011-04-03T08:57:00.000-07:002011-04-03T09:27:43.510-07:00What we have been up too....Well as you can see I haven't blogged in a while ;(..How sad, I was on quite a roll. Well I'm afraid to say life has just caught up with me, or more importantly baseball/softball, LOL. League is in full swing here in Tarkington, which means things are CRAZY. I know that sounds like I'm complaining, but I do LOVE most of it. My kids and the hubs love it, so therefore I love it too!!

Great news for me and those of you who read this, lol.. I got a new camera ;). I have been wanting one for a while and finally just did it. I'm soo glad I did. I LOVE IT. So now instead of just reading my ramblings you get so actually see some of my joys too ;). So instead of just rambling on today, I thought I would post of the pics I have taken since Thursday :: Hope you enjoy!!

lovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-16070276022868872192011-02-27T21:09:00.001-08:002011-02-28T07:21:16.336-08:00Scrap Night RecipesOh my!! Baseball season is in full swing here at our house, what a blessing!! We love it, but it keeps us busy and gone. Hopefully I will make myself stop and catch my Blog up, LOL. First off SCRAP NIGHT!! OMG, what fun!! Literally, I'm not trying to be funny here. I love my ladies!! We get together once a month, create master pieces, eat great food, gossip and giggle. This past Friday night was my night to host. LaJeania created a wonderful Boy Layout for us, it was great and I can't wait to put pictures of Trace on it. Anyway, I promised I would share all my recipes so here goes:

Pizza Dip
This was actually the 1st time I ever made this or tasted it. Thanks goes to Sharon Woods for sharing ;) I think my proportions are a little different (she prepares it for a PDO class, and I prepared it for a party of adults. So this is how I did it:

2 bricks Cream Cheese (softened)
1 Jar Pizza Sauce (I used Ragu)
4 Cups Mozzarella Cheese grated
Parmesan Cheese (to taste)
Pizza Toppings (I used mini peperoni, black olives, and mushrooms)

In a 9x13 pan, spray cooking spray and spread out the cream cheese. Then layer the pizza sauce. Sprinkle on the cheeses and other topping of you choice. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Serve hot with chips, crackers of your choice.

Pizza Rolls
1 pkg Frozen Rolls (I use Rhodes-orange bag)
1 pkg peperoni
1 pkg sliced Mozzarella cheese

Follow defrosting/rising directions on the roll's package. Using hands (or anything you want) spread out the dough, spread 3 peperoni and 1/4 piece of cheese. Fold dough around the stuffing and follow the cooking directions on the roll package. My kids LOVE these and they make a great pre-game meal.

Potato Soup
Ok, I'm going to be honest every time I make this, I add or do something different. Apparently Friday Night's versions was good, I got tons of compliments on it ;). So here is what I did Friday Night.

2 pkg small red potatoes
1 small pkg Owens Sausage
1 onion
3 cans cream of mushroom with roasted garlic
1 block Velveeta cheese
salt & pepper to taste

Rinse and chop potatoes into bite size pieces. Boil until tender, not too tender though, you don't want them to be mashy. Drain some of the water, I leave about 1 inch above the potatoes. In a small skillet brown sausage and onions, then add to potatoes. Add soup, Velveeta, and salt and pepper. When all the cheese is melted the soup is ready. Save your leftovers, I think it tasted better the 2nd day ;) Enjoylovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-39057183011828311522011-02-14T12:53:00.001-08:002011-02-14T21:39:16.850-08:00Make it Monday - Valentine Love PotionOk, while looking through all the blogs that I love I found these super cute Love Potions. Here is a super cute alternative to the traditional candy and card valentine that the kids pass out at school. I have found several different ideas on how to do this. One is to have a schedule of topics: Make-it Mondays, Wordless Wednesdays, Throwback Thrusdays, etc... Ok, I'm not sure how it's gonna work, but I'm going to work on a schedule and try to stick to it ;)

Here is what I have so far:
Mondays - Make-it Mondays - either I will show how to make a craft, or I will cheat and make something off of another blog (see previous post LOL)
Tuesday - ??? Trace LOVES them and has the entire collection. He can't go to sleep without reading at least one Little Jake Book every night. My friend Deana G. told me about them, and we have been hooked ever since. Hope they write some more before next Christmas. Now they are not only our favorite book, but also our favorite Birthday gift to fellow hunting boys ;) They are books about a little boy (Little Jake) who hunts. He does it in very safe, law abiding, and adventurous way.

http://www.littlesportsman.com/

Meghan - Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls or Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo Series<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEialwbYCNvWskh_qQ7s4VnqXAeoCqBrh9HpeIUukYlHCwMYefQMkCF8joIb6uxHy4Ze5KqP3rhh3Yzt_FTKlxJ4HOraNoQ6r6zL2gMvrXsKx4DzUqtZ9zbcVjKdzDBd4wBTr1pPRWXsZ-E/s320/book+25.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569669311469351842" />

Meg is def her mother's child. She LOVES to read, I am soo blessed. She got both of these series for Christmas, it's like 30 something books in all. She loves to pack them for tournament days or hunting trips. She will def get some good reading in tomorrow ;) These are both series for young female readers. They are really upbeat and tell about all the drama young ladies face these days (boys, pets, moving, friends, brothers, parents, etc...). Meg Loves them, and therefore so do I!!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg_P2_O9c086iApPdKF9ET_VnFw-N5Uc3Sl32bWzJftjDNJVRfzpqlUQsCcNUxk25fIV374BbRZXXCzuxlh621b1hOCGENZz2jmQC3XtDq-4q6xKfjRsFw7SQ2bVT8r1zYN0L3J7u7NQA/s320/book+4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569678210403574722" />
Ronald - Raising Dad
So, I really don't know what Ron will be reading tomorrow, he usually reads his Bible around here while studing for his lessons. He does most of his reading while trying to sleep at the Lodge, LOL. But he did get this book for Chirstmas ;)

Me - Elizabeth Noble's Things I Want My Daughters to Know
Ok, first let me say I got a Nook for Christmas, I have books downloaded on it. But I just can not make myself read from it. I know it's weird, I'm sure it's an amazing gadget. I'm just a creature of habit. I plan on reading all the books I have in real book form, then starting to read books on the Nook. Or that's the plan anyway. I just started Things I Want My Daughters to Know, and so far it is really good, kinda sad but really good. I will give a full review (not many people know this, actually no one does, but I really would love to write book/movie reviews. There just isn't really a market for that here in Tarkington Texas. LOL)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 246px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjATBFTSMnBc7sMLQo3PGTzsxDatEO6ArhGJq8Giku9TY0qrxQWwXlkQ1YmQcB31kietvG9-pXFjeweTV3j752zRQJhdgFKPAQsVibSWYuUI__C90K3RyfUBsYGrtjhOnxTfJ7PL8dwc4Y/s400/Books.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569667031872234642" />lovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-29140441815227874492011-02-02T19:28:00.000-08:002011-02-02T19:35:55.309-08:00Wordless Wednesday :)<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 293px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF5XKKfR8NeS4tS0kVrmU-0J-VkuP9kG9dlcC7AmFn2co9ObyG4_ctyeA9-C5krTrHnXUgc-Plj3rV3OLMs1ckCRGOeUyg-MpI9m_JjgtBJKWDL6_648HA-FyhJL7_79Ptw7k3ttZtd9c/s400/IMG00118-20110202-1829.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569301469720324434" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWfWhwrsf2dXCWsX9hox0Qw10Va_TFzDHY1PXXbCed9RrSFvm56SOCmjK4UGGokYrjhK5uhN-2s4ysX5peVEJcBN89wO8d5pRTCVQXFBQVtXEl-CwV4Mfrb1bOHWvaUUKRCPSWWhbb3w0/s400/IMG00123-20110202-2012.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569301465546625314" />lovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-25902711323828268022011-01-31T15:46:00.000-08:002011-01-31T16:11:56.817-08:00Studing Spelling Words ;)Ok, I'm sure my house is like yours: WE HATE homework!! LoL, please do not tell any of my kids teachers. But we do, and what is really sad about that is: I used to be a teacher!! I do understand and appreciate that we have it, but I really don't like it!! Anyway, as you have seen in some of my recent post I am going to start sharing some of the crazy things we do around our house (ex: throwing Koozies together in 1 night, spending an afternoon with a sick kid making 100 day Mats, etc..). One of the fun things we do is Study Spelling words. I know right, how is that fun, we here at the Shirley house we make it fun!! We do a different "Out of the Box" way to study them every night.

Tonight we "Powder Sugared" our words. I take a cake pan, we used circle, you can use what ever size or shape you have. I do recommend one with higher sides, you don't want the powdered sugar to get everywhere. Sprinkle in some Powered Sugar and let the kids write the words in them. I call the words out 1 at a time, the kids have to say the letter as they are writing it. When they are finished if the word is spelled correctly then they get to lick their finger ;). Give the pan a shake and start on the next word. This also works well with flour, shaving cream, or foamy soap. My kids love the powered sugar, and they love spelling their words correctly LOL.

Other things we do:
*magnetic letters - on the fridge, or a cookie sheet.
*markers/special paper - who knew markers were so fun to study with, LOL.
*Shower Doors/foggy mirrors - the only way to take a shower and study at the same time ;), this also helps with congestion too LOL.
*Loose letters - if you have a cricut, or you can buy Poster Letters ($2-4 @ Walmart or Dollar General) they love to rearrange the letters to make their words
*Dry Erase Board or Chalk Board - you can buy a small on at WalMart super fun ;)
**And the list can go on and on. The key is just to not get stuck in the same old boring homework routine. Make it fun! and surprisingly the kids will love it, and learn it!! Feel free to add more in my comments, I will as I think of more to add ;)

Snagz concentrating on spelling her "big words."

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLimAYR_NhhXzmu_KoaeaGsktBFv3d3LR08T17lWzB9Eeh1-cXFE75kO1_liBUXqqcnHF9S4Fm3eD-bNn-M6Vqh4p5oYqziW7VFRcIlEPigtcQVZfqIqTyAp_eQg9JS_o3UZMEyQoe8I0/s400/IMG00111-20110131-1639.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568506176614756210" />
Tracer getting through the list.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZy9r23F9lL-ErHPUj7xwxdMgQWC7U5KyM__Z05dMSEYzRYT8WbrVyaL0IqCtrkDUfU-5v4YmTnWmrLnfAV2WlneqgscR4ktoP_OchTHCO9hyPxzMq5QVk4k6lRyNwn4JntHINgU4nDS0/s400/IMG00108-20110131-1603.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568506166262277938" />
Trace got one right :)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 298px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmD8Z_QUci32ElzIK3BtoSzA5of-_fVB7UEg4r11H-Es6sUiImCMGEX3MmowJJUz4YGJvHp0b3zO-eBJ5F6K5ajKsX5xWWOfEExMr9Z3uBgGMSn5Ud7ZUMy2BEDvMTPxuHcjjT_cIaGHg/s400/IMG00109-20110131-1626.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568506169099697442" />lovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-59390585462520115792011-01-31T06:24:00.000-08:002011-01-31T06:33:24.980-08:00100 th Day of SchoolToday Tracer's Primary school is celebrating the 100th Day of School. How exciting, it is to be in school 100 days!! I miss teaching and getting to count to 100 at least 1,000 times today. He is sooo excited. In his backpack today is: 100 pennies for class activities, 100 Fishin Worms as his 100 Collection, A 100 Piece Puzzle as a surprise for the class to work on today, and a box of Cracker for 100 Day Snack. I'm not sure about this year but in years past the school has had a drawing for prizes every 100 minutes, with at least 100 kids winning things. When I was teaching we would measure 100 steps, write 100 words, see what we could color in 100 seconds. We would do everything 100!! Such a fun unexpected day!! I love and miss it!! I pray his class has a very blessed Fun 100th day of school!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCc-TT28q6z1isu3P4URogFZYiNS3IruhsPv7NM3SzE2H57WPNLuJHxxljn6Oaa8N_GGbrNmbzSYOGO1rP-48Tjj7xcXEqRtIM0mdOXXFw7UAvsXDp3H7ccwgrVjfD18aTsnGMyU5MyOo/s400/IMG00096-20110127-2118.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568357443964139410" />

Last week while Trace was home with a stomach bug, we made his class 100 mats, to help sort all the things they will count today. I love to watch them, and love to be their "Team Mom." So with all the sports we have going on, I decided to share some of my FABULOUSNESS!!

Our 1st weekend of Xcel volleyball was super exciting. We had no expectations and had a wonderful time. It was really a great day! But our girls got thirsty and they didn't have a way to tell where there drinks were. They all got mixed up, and we didn't' know ours from the other teams (some of the girls aren't as wonderful and they didn't pick up their mess, like we do). Anyway, to solve this "problem" I made the girls Koozies! Check them out, they match there uniforms and were the hit of the gym. None of them are perfect, but the girls were proud and loved them anyway ;)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuRZnqPPIR89QTDXlMJPlmEnNPBEF52s8Oms5HJ3SVQFmyq8UTFZxYWM4Mbt_skWi25_Rnb9-LOtrhEhCKlHQRaaTHH4196RBDsuvLQAsopozim8pnDMQBQ5BRwx6c46ChWMxfIjgHS5E/s400/IMG00101-20110130-0002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568179921998560018" />

How to make them:
*You need a koozie (Walmart has some, but usually not enough, I got mine at Dollar General for $1 each)
*Fabulous Material :) I made 10 with less than 1 yard
*Wonder Under (I'm sure it has a different name now, but I still call it Wonder Under, LOL)
*1 - 2 types of trim

Basic Materials you prob already have:
Iron & Ironing board
Glue Gun
Scissors & yard stick or measuring tape
Creativity

1. Wash and dry material. Following "Wonder Under" directions and attach it to the material. Let the material cool completely (2-5 minutes) before moving to next step.
2. Measure and cut the material to fit around the koozie. Mine were 4 inches high. So I cut my strips 4 in by 12 inches.
3. Iron, yes I said Iron it to the Koozie ;). I know this is weird, but it was super quick and easy. I just tilted the iron, and put my hand in the koozie and worked the material around it.
4. Now is the fabulous part. Attach your trim. I used hot pink feather boas and black sequins. Use the glue gun and have fun!!lovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-38990590871712713532011-01-28T07:10:00.001-08:002011-01-28T07:18:57.273-08:00I've been told it's the Best Potato Soup Ever!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2wGM_Mehd3KHYnwTtmNegQekw3udS35XxRGjkvgw3V9tBSby57WAoCTjhtPQx3cdHdyZ52_Zx4ORtVQ9wDJvQuYjrIdY7NsJNoiVdgb5lwSe3CPpndG_h9Bbhw7BWqr3yb6fY1kEedxY/s400/IMG00097-20110127-2239.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567255051359525106" />
So my wonderful Hubs and Mrs Jenny both agree that this is the "Best Potato Soup Ever!!" And since it is "Soooo Good" I thought I would share the recipe ;) Here it is, hope you enjoy!!

1 Small Bag red potatoes (I like the tiny ones, no peeling, just rinse them)
3 Cans Cream of Mushroom (I like the roasted garlic kind)
1 Small Block Velveeta
1 lb pan sausage
Ranch Dressing a shake (not a whole bag)
Salt, Pepper, Garlic Salt
1 Medium Onion

Ok, this can't get any easier. Boil your potatoes, brown your sausage and onion in skillet. When potatoes are tender drain, leave just enough water to cover potatoes. Add all ingredients including sausage and onions (I don't drain mine, which make this a very healthy recipe, LOL). After the Velveeta is melted it's done. Ron loves it!!lovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-39090701603273032462011-01-27T21:12:00.000-08:002011-01-28T07:21:31.395-08:00We are sooo Blessed!!!Ok, so I know we are totally blessed!! My family wakes up every morning in cozy beds (most of the time mine, LOL), we have clothes to wear, food to eat, more LOVE than you can imagine and an Amazing God that is always GOOD. I list these things because today my sweet heartbroken daughter came to me upset. One of her New Friends at school has been talking to her lots and telling her about her life. This little girl, just moved here after Christmas, she has only been here for 3 weeks. She is already moving, because "Her mom can't afford her." So she is moving to Anahuac, then Alaska with her Dad. She has also told Meg how she doesn't have food at night to eat. My sweet Meggie is just upset and totally doesn't understand and why would she, they are only 8. She is so upset her new little friend is moving, but more importantly she is upset because she doesn't understand. We are soo lucky we can talk openly about life with our kids, and the power of prayer. Meg asked if she can give her friend a good by gift, we said yes of course. She packed her a gift bag with books, bows and a picture of herself. I made sure she wrote down our phone numbers for the little girl. Ron coached Meg in how to pray with her tomorrow at school, before she leaves. I know tomorrow will be a hard day at school for Meggie, saying good bye is never easy. But hopefully this little girl will feel loved, even if it is by friend she might never get to see again. I hope she is as touched by Meg's love as Meg is by hers.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCeD2aZBwPuoHCbcLocfawjlO9Wmb8P1ZAqCDQUEG0a_dkX2DZX3BVkrnWNeBZ-O-gmMEocuBudAgVu1f0Zm3SmH03i5Xnm_S1xGrHeV6hBWoYXq28JrqInEJombfNEbGFDJSP3yJRTUE/s400/1000299_165.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567109539459146546" />
I know this isn't a recent picture of her...but I just wish she could stay this young and innocent forever!! It's amazing, I really don't like to go "hunting" I just like to ride around and take pictures, but none the less I had a blast. We went to our Lodge in on the River Bottoms with 4 other families, the Lamberth's, Hollingsworth's, Boody's, and My Brother In Law Rob and niece Bekah. There were 9 kids and they had a blast!! Everyone, got along soooo well and just played and goofed off. We started the afternoon on Friday (I checked my kids out early shhh), then headed down. Trace was sooo excited, and Meg was a little, even though she had to miss a birthday party. We unloaded the cars and groceries and hopped on mules and left. The kids were all smiles the entire time!! Such a blessed weekend! Saturday night the kids played until they just couldn't anymore and the "grown ups" sat around and told stories from our younger years. We all laughed soo much and just had a great time!! Sunday was bitter sweet, we all packed up and went our separate ways. Well not really, we saw the Lamberth's a few minutes later at Church ;), and everyone else we got to meet up with at the Baseball fields. We are soo lucky to have such amazingly fun people around us!! I'm blessed!!

Snagz, I just love to look at those eyes!! I just wonder what she was thinking ;)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiha1SgDFe11JQMcHmqIx31_JyeNdfCOeQWs_mTqgmiyCyZFTBk37hMxvKwoN4SLsAVKAiXuHURHw92cgejyx0aPkvDjo2OH4QFZY2v-szZCzPGHD2zr_m6Te6psTrSwCt6tcpAoITjrgM/s400/100_5515.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565791862433861842" />

Ron = the big Bow Hunter!! But I haven't had a chance to tell about our amazing trip to The Ranch. Usually we get to go with Ron's family. It is always fun! My kids LOVE everything Del Rio has to offer!! We love staying in the old house, walking around the rocks, riding in the jeeps, feeding the animals with Mr Raul, eating something delicious every night!!!, and just being away from our busy crazy lives. But this year it was the funnest!! Since we missed the family trip (they leave on Christmas day and we were sick) we got to go out with some family friends, The Rouses. It was a blast!! The kids (especially Meg) has soo much fun just being kids. We road around in jeeps everyday exploring the Ranch. I took Trace and at least one of the Rouse girls "Dove Hunting" every afternoon. We slept LATE everyday. Meghan got a video camera and they taped themselves "remaking" The Wizard of Oz (I will post the videos later when I figure out how, LOL). We saw tons of deer and who knows how many miles of Del Rio scenery. We truly had an amazing time. Anyway, starting some new traditions turned out to be a total hit and hopefully next year we will be able to go back with Rouses again!! not to mention Ron and Shane already have some fun trips planned for us this summer..camping,and at least one trip to The Bay (my kids LOVE LOVE the Bay House).

Just of few of my fav pics from our trip:

<img style="cursor:pointer; Usually we are rushing around so fast that we really don't get to enjoy any of it. The kids are usually rushed from one family event to the next, with no time in between enjoy each other or their presents (LOL). But this year we were shut-ins. Trace was diagnosed Friday, Dec 24 with the Flu. So we stayed at home, I dropped him off and ran to grab groceries. We usually would have went to the Shirley's (my in-laws) for the evening, then home for the night to get a quick nap. Santa would come Christmas morning then our presents and packing, then we are on the road for 8 1/2 hours headed toward the Ranch.

This year we got to hang out at the house and be a family. The kids have had 2 good days with their loot. Ron has gotten to learn a few house chores, while I have laid in bed and caught up on some much needed sleep. We still haven't had "Christmas Dinner," that is coming tomorrow. But most of the toys are put away and everything has been played with. Hopefully if I keep improving and the Meg nor Ron comes down with it, we will be Ranch Bound by the end of the week. I love our traditions, but sometimes it seems like we just rush through everything and don't really get to enjoy it. Hopefully, with this little kink in our plans this year, maybe next year we can create our own traditions. Who knows??

My only real bummer is I got no pics of anything, I was feeling too awful to get the camera, but I did get to truly enjoy watching the kids. Sometimes, I think I get so caught up in all the picture taking and tradition following that we forget to just sit back, breath, and take in the moment.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX-Ws8y9ZDTD83z3BC9lgy9LNGPQvax3SvCYjBnyF_svaAvmQtigedKboHxqp4ET4zVAG0TNiqqxRhyphenhyphenjQhlFVxOfACO0_bd6Im9kyEpFaHBICjeB-jG3jM9veXQ1Vq8MtXXm85YJwTEfM/s320/053.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5555243268607807314" />

Ron and Trace at his Kindergarten Christmas Party (Thanks Shaunna for sharing ;)

I will post more of Meg..when I am up to finding my camera LOLlovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-45909332549076050382010-11-16T11:43:00.000-08:002010-11-16T12:01:58.909-08:00Tracer
Yesterday was your big 6th birthday!! I am soo excited you are 6 and getting bigger. I love that you still like to sleep in the bed with me and dad, and you are still our baby boy. However, you are starting to grow up in so many ways. There is no more crying to go to school, this year you didn't want to Trick or Treat nor a Birthday Party. This year you have just wanted to go hunting with your daddy and the men. I have known for a while now that this time was coming, but I didn't realize it would this soon. Next week you will go on your 1st big "Men" hunt. You are soooo excited, Daddy is excited, Meg is ready to go shopping, Me I'm kinda sad. I love having you here with me while everyone is gone. I like snuggling in the bed, and just being "Us". But I'm really excited you are turning into a wonderful young man!! I'm so proud of who you are going to become!!!

lovinmybaseballbabieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03865960261967370317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6306675548258071968.post-73425311374883479712010-07-12T21:43:00.000-07:002010-07-12T22:01:32.492-07:00How did that happen??? We got up early like usual and headed to a ball park (Sta-Mo YUCK! a post for another day). Got to watch Trace play in his 1st Regional All Star Tournament and of course we were very proud parents. But somehow between Sta-Mo and home, we were talked into going Coon hunting in the River Bottoms...Really how did that happen? And Secondly how did I get thrown in this equation??? I don't like normal hunting little lone Coon hunting. While sitting on the mule at 12:30 A.M., all I could think was HOW DID THIS HAPPEN??? How did I get moved from the comfort of the couch with Lexi (the new puppy) and put in the middle of the dark woods with a spotting light.

2ND Example: Next Sunday...We are planning Meg's Slumber Party. I know all of the girls will have a total blast and it's hard to tell them NO, which in turn is how it all happens at my house.
